The Job
We’re looking for a Nutrition Specialist & Educator to play an integral role in our marketing and innovation team and help our customers better understand the “why” and "how" behind our products, programs, and overall metabolic health philosophy.

You’ll be the expert on the nutrition, functional ingredients, and claims for all of our products and programs, ensuring we are living our mission of improving our clients’ lives and delivering transformational results. You will give critical input in the product ideation, formulation, and R&D process, grounding ideas in the underlying nutrition science and generating ideas for specialty ingredients and formulations that set Temper products apart. Further, you will deeply understand the clinical studies behind our functional ingredients and be the expert on marketing claims.

This role requires being able to translate science and research studies into consumer-friendly communications. You will leverage your knowledge and expertise to inject the science into our marketing communications -- sharing ideas for how to better educate our audience, editing marketing copy, and being a valued internal resource for our marketing team. You will also be the go-to person for customer questions regarding nutrition and the science behind our products.

Job Responsibilities
Support Product Development:

  • Be the internal expert on our product formulations and intended benefits, particularly our functional ingredients
  • Follow the latest in nutrition science, functional ingredients, and competitor trends to inject ideas into our product development process
  • Create and maintain internal briefs and educational materials for all product launches, anticipating and answering potential client/team questions in easily digestible manner; ensure our team is prepared for product launches
  • Oversee claims language and regulatory compliance in our packaging and marketing Support Marketing and Client Communications: Be an expert for our content channels, supplying key facts, links to studies, and simple verbiage that explains the “why” and "how" of Temper
  • Go the go-to person for any nutrition / science / medical-related question that arises, researching answers and connecting with experts as necessary Help create educational products:
  • Collaborate with Copy team on client-facing Guides and educational / content-rich products -- setting the strategy for what education we want to provide clients in tandem with their product experience, and serving as a content resource

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years work experience, including work for a brand in health, wellness, food & beverage, or consumer products
  • Degree in nutrition science, naturopathic doctor, and/or something similar; experience reading clinical studies; IIN certification a bonus
  • Experience being involved in product development, R&D, and/or innovation process
  • Track record of successfully managing claims in marketing and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Ability to read scientific articles and clinical studies and distill takeaways for consumer-facing communications
  • Highly collaborative; able to partner cross-functionally and manage a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Growth-oriented, with a passion for optimizing processes and solving challenging problems
  • Resilience in the face of challenges, and energy and adaptability in a fast-changing environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
